Audrey + Jonathan and their small wedding brunch
I have to say it: These two are real troopers.
Originally they were planning their wedding for summer 2020, and then Covid hit. But they still dived right into it, adjusting their guest's number and planning an entire wedding outdoors. By doing their ceremony in the late morning and having a brunch afterward! They are such optimists in life that nothing, absolutely nothing - not even a pandemic - could have been in the way of their wedding.
We started the day at the boys: capturing all the details, having fun getting ready & toasting with a weird alcool mix - I can't believe they all hold up their drink. We then moved to see the girls, and everyone was so relaxed and zen.
Audrey decided to have a first look... with her dad! And I was so on board with that idea. You must know it by now; I absolutely adore first looks. It's such a lovely little moment to take the time to appreciate the day, discover the other, and savor every second of it. Of course, you can do a first look with your partner. But it's possible to apply the same concept to any loved one. I already shoot first looks with: dads, moms, both parents, both dads, bridal party, BFF, children... Possibilities are endless. Having a dedicated time in your day for that moment means allowing it to take a little more importance. It also breaks the craziness of the day by giving you a couple of minutes to step out of your head, hug the ones you love, and of course, shed a tear or two.
Her dad was no exception; he did cry a little, she called a bit too. And so did I. After all these years, I still can't help it.
The same goes for the ceremony where everyone was emotional. After several months apart from each other, having the possibility to finally reunite and for such a fantastic occasion added extra special meaning to the day.
Can you get all the elegant countryside vintage European vibe of their decor? I mean, every time I look at their wedding reception photos, I feel like I'm somewhere in England having a chic picnic and eating a scone. Which is absolutely perfect for a breakfast lover like myself!
